Success Stories

Emerald Street
DHCD recently completed a project that helped an elderly couple purchase and rehabilitate a house in Ward 6. The couple formerly resided in public housing and was awarded a property through a Homestead lottery. They also applied to DHCD’s Single Family Residential Rehabilitation Program for home repairs.

Madeline Gardens
Madeline Gardens, 1210, 1230 and 1240 Holbrook Terrace, NE, is a 30-unit, affordable condominium complex in the Trinidad neighborhood. This was a major transformation of three 15-unit, structurally compromised buildings contributing to neighborhood blight that were rehabilitated and are now home to a diverse group of owners.
